Ed was born in Baton Rouge on October 2, 1953, and entered eternal rest on May 18, 2025, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center.
He was a resident of St. Francisville, retired owner of an automotive repair company for over thirty years, and a member of Open-Door Baptist Church. Ed will be remembered as an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers.
He is preceded in death by his son Derrek William Halley, father William C. Halley, mother Mildred Hendricks Wood, stepmother Gladys B. Halley, and brother Kenneth Wayne Halley.
Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years Deborah J. Halley, stepson Russ Davis, granddaughter Kylie Nicole Halley Zeigler, siblings Christine Halley Hollomon, Janice Halley Reavis, William C. Halley Jr., and Charles Wood.
Ed’s pride and joy was the day God blessed him with his son Derrek, and Derrek blessed his life further with his beautiful granddaughter Kylie. In his worst days of sickness, Kylie was the one that could make him smile.
