Listen to Obituary

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of our rock, our anchor, Wayne Brian. Wayne slipped away peacefully into to the arms of Jesus on December 3, 2025. Wayne was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He was humble, kind, caring, friendly and a gentle soul. A smile rarely left Wayne’s face, especially in the presence of those he loved most. Wayne always looked for the good in every person and situation even during hard times. Wayne’s Bible was never far from him. He arose early, read scriptures and carried his Bible wherever he went. You could often see this Bible on the seat of Wayne’s pickup truck.

Wayne was born on November 3, 1961 to his parents, James P. Brian and Brenda Moore Brian. He is preceded in death by his father; his two beautiful daughters, Taylor Brian and Mindy Brian Miranda; mother-in-law, Betty T. Root; father-in-law, Donald E. Root; and brother-in-law, Kelly Root. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 40 years, Ruthie Root Brian; daughter, Lindsey Brian; mother, Brenda Brian; brother, Alan Brian and wife Lynn; grandchildren, Tori and Ian Miranda; also survived by those who lovingly knew him as 'pawpaw' including Sofia, Mauri, Owen, and Larson; son-in-law Israel (Cachis) Miranda and wife Denisse; brother-in-law, Terry Root and wife Missy; sister-in-law, Stacy Root; numerous nieces and nephews; and many others Wayne considered family.

Wayne loved his family, shared his visions, dreams, trips to the beach, trips to North Carolina to his boyhood home and many other adventures. Wayne’s love ran deep and his family never had a reason to doubt that love because it was strongly evident. Wayne loved music, especially music from his younger years. Those songs never got old. Wayne was a quiet observer, but could quickly and strongly rally for those he loved most.

As Irving Berlin once wrote, “The song may have ended, but the melody lingers on.” May we always feel Wayne’s presence as his melody covers each of us. Until we meet again, Wayne, you are loved.

A celebration of life will be held at Wholly Ground Church (27988 Walker South Road, Walker, Louisiana) on Saturday, December 13th. A gathering of family and friends for a Time of Remembrance will begin at 2:30 pm.
