Virgina M. Leger

Virginia Martine Leger, 84, a lifelong resident of Burnside, Born on April 5, 1941, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 22, 2025. 

Virginia is survived by her husband of 42 years, Darius "Winkie" Leger, and her children: Mark Schexnayder (Jesslyn), Pat Schexnayder (Marsha), Amy Waguespack, Stephanie Janis (Brian), Virginia Caballero, Dawn Delaune (Kelly), and Brandy Leger. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, her brother Charles "Bud" Martine (Skipper), sister Karol Long, and sister-in-law Marie Chautin.

Virginia is preceded in death by her father, Ernest "Mott" Martine; her mother, Ida Martine; and her brother-in-law, Winston "Wimp" Long.

Virginia cherished spending time with her family.

One of her greatest joys was watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play ball.

A Visitation will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Darrow on May 7, 2025, from 9:00 am until Mass at 11:00 am. Rosary to start at 10:30 am.
