Listen to Obituary

On March 1, 2026, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully. Vickie Lynn (Mansfield) Cohoon, 74, of Geismar, Louisiana, died in Denham Springs after a courageous cancer battle.

Vickie was born on February 25, 1952 to John and Mary Mansfield, and was raised in Bogalusa, LA. One of four sisters growing up on an expansive working dairy farm in Plainview, LA, she struck out at age eighteen after graduating from Bogalusa High School in 1970 to move to Baton Rouge. She found her passion working in the floral industry and was an award-winning florist. She could guarantee the delivery of the most innovative, beautiful, fresh, and gorgeous floral arrangements for any wedding or event.

Her pride and joy in life were her three sons, oldest Ronald “Ronnie” Brian, and a set of twins, Dak Brian and Beau Brian. She was endlessly proud of their accomplishments and took joy in hearing about their lives and attending special family events. Some of the best memories growing up for the boys were the trips to the mountains of Tennessee, the beaches of Florida, and canoe and camping trips along the river in Mississippi. She loved getting pictures and updates of her grandchildren, with whom she loved and spoiled.

Vickie was preceded in death by the love of her life, Roger Cohoon. She missed him dearly every day, and it comforts us to know she will be reunited with him in heaven.

Vickie is survived by her son, Ronnie, and daughter-in-law, Shonya, son Dak, son Beau, daughter-in-law, Angela Stotts, and her grandchildren: Kennedy Brian, Harley Brian, Leo Brian, Ruby Brian, and Ever Brian, and step-grandchildren Amon Brown and Ashlynn Burchfield.

We are grateful for the wonderful care she received from the hospice nurses, her personal carer Diane, and her granddaughter Kennedy, who she was so close to and who cared for her with love up to the very end.

A private memorial is being planned for a later date.
