Vernon James Babin, aged 61, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026. He was a lifelong resident of Gonzales, Louisiana. Vernon was a deeply kind and good man who centered his life around his love for his family and friends. Known for his warm spirit and generous heart, he found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, and he spent many happy hours casting a line. Vernon was also a passionate sports fan who never missed a chance to watch football and baseball, cheering on the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Braves with enthusiasm. Above all, his greatest legacy is the immense love, kindness, and dedication he shared with those closest to him, including his many close and lifelong friends. He is survived by his beloved mother, Sylvia Babin; his loving daughter, Brooke Babin; his sisters, Monica Landry and her husband Joe, and Patricia Bazile; his nieces, Ashley Roussel, Leslie Laws, Cheryl Chaisson, his nephew, James Landry and spouses, extended family, Kenneth Templet, Logan and Brionna Bundy. He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Babin, and his nephew, CJ McKnight. In accordance with Vernon’s wishes, there will be no funeral or celebration of life service. His family asks that you remember the love, kindness, and laughter he shared with everyone who knew him.
