Truvie Gyles Wells, age 46, of St. Amant, Louisiana, peacefully passed away in his sleep on December 07, 2025. Born in St. Amant in 1979, Truvie grew up surrounded by the warmth and noise of a big Louisiana family, an upbringing that shaped his bold spirit, generous heart, and lifelong love of the outdoors. From an early age, he found a deep peace on the water, developing a passion for fishing that stayed with him throughout his life.
A proud graduate of St. Amant High School’s Class of 1997, Truvie followed his diploma by becoming a master electrician with the IBEW electrical union and worked all over the country for years of adventure. He traveled, explored, and lived in a way that made every story worth retelling—something his family can attest to. Truvie had a knack for slipping in and out of life’s scenes like a legend: appearing suddenly, sparking laughter and joy, and leaving behind memories retold around countless dinner tables.
Truvie is preceded in death by his grandfathers Truvie R. Wells and Gyles Williams, cousin Krissi Stafford, and other beloved family members who went before him. He is survived by his parents, Brad and Robin Wells; his big brother, James (Hannah) Wells; and his little sister, Misty (Patrick) McTernan —along with nieces, nephews, and many loved ones who will forever feel the space he leaves behind —including close cousins and lifelong friends who were like brothers and sisters.
To those who knew him, Truvie was larger than life. Rest in peace, Truvie. You left too soon. But the stories, the laughter, and the love you gave us will echo for the rest of our lives.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Faithful United Methodist Church in Saint Amant (14253 LA-431 Saint Amant, LA 70774), with visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by a private ceremony held for close family and friends.
