Troy John Bourgeois

Troy John Bourgeois, a life-time resident of Gonzales, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on January 11th, 2026, at the age of 80. Troy shared 61 ½ wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Jean Bourgeois. Troy was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, affectionately known as Paw-Paw by his grandchildren.

Troy and his brother, Allen, spent many years building custom homes throughout Ascension Parish. After the passing of his brother, Troy continued to do carpentry work and repairs for many others. In his retirement, he enjoyed travelling to the coast with his wife and spending time with his family and friends.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents, A. Paul and Luce Bourgeois; siblings, Allen Bourgeois and Mary Ann Himel; and several nephews and other family and longtime friends.

Troy is survived by his devoted wife, Jean Moran Bourgeois; his daughter, Stacy Bourgeois Jaeger; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Kim Meaux Bourgeois; three grandchildren, Travis Daigle, Alayna Jaeger, and Anna Bourgeois; and one very special great-granddaughter, London Jaeger. He is also survived by two of his sisters, Hattie Moran and Gracie LeBlanc; his newest best friend, Mel Albea; and many nephews, nieces, and friends he has made over the years.

The family sincerely thanks the staff and residents at Gonzales Healthcare Center over the last few years for their care and friendship, especially Teedy and Amber. The family is also thankful for the wonderful care and attention given to Troy by the staff at OLOL St. Elizabeth ER and ICU.

A visitation will be held for Troy Bourgeois at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 LA-429, St. Amant, LA, 70774, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, beginning at 9AM, followed by Mass at 11:00AM. The burial will take place at a later date.
