Thomas Jay Campbell, a resident of Port Allen, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the age of 57. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on May 3, 1968, and adopted into the Campbell family at 3 years old. He was a graduate of Walker High School, class of 1986. There he excelled on the Varsity cross country team where he made the top 10 when his team won the District 6- AAA title in 1985. He also won the event for clearing the high jump bar; and in band, he received "superior" rating for a solo performance at LSU. He later worked in construction. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his sister, Jenell (Richard) Holland of Denham Springs; 2 nieces, Heather Babcock and Tiffany (Nefthali) Sanchez; 8 great nieces and nephews, Maggie, Madison, Brandon, and Emily Babcock; Lydia (Joshua) Nielsen, Caleb, Samuel, and Anna Sanchez; and a foster sister, Yourba Duqueestrada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas James Campbell and Maggie Cannon Campbell.
He was loved by his family and numerous friends. A private family graveside service will be held at the Revival Temple church cemetery in Walker, Louisiana
