Listen to Obituary

Theodore Paul Aucoin, 78, of Baker, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on October 15, 2026, at Baton Rouge Health Care Center.

Born on March 21, 1948, to Jasper Augustin Aucoin and Jessie Mae Kendrick Aucoin, in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, Ted exhibited extraordinary intelligence and attended Castle Heights Military Academy. As a fifteen-year-old, he was hit by a car and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Despite this adversity, Ted lived a life filled with love, kindness, and cherished memories. He will be remembered by his family for his loving heart, and his dedication to those he loved. He was a beloved and dedicated husband to his wife of 45 years, Wilma Charlene Blalock Aucoin. They were married on August 20, 1981, in Liberty, Mississippi, and sealed together for time and all eternity on August 20, 1982, in the Jordan River Utah Temple. Ted and Wilma spent many happy years dedicated to taking care of each other and their three dogs, "Catfish 1, "Catfish 2," and "June Bug." Ted had many wonderful qualities and treasured time spent with family and loved ones. Ted possessed a rare and gentle grace felt by everyone in the room. He was the most precious person who exhibited kindness, thoughtfulness, and love. He was extraordinarily wonderful. His hobbies included writing poetry, reciting poetry for friends and family, and spoiling his dogs and Wilma. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Ted worked for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development as a Technical Engineer counting traffic for 33 years. He retired in 1978. Though Ted will be deeply missed, the love he shared, and the memories created will remain forever.

Ted is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Wilma Blalock Aucoin, his sister Candice Albright, and a host of family members.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
