Susan Keyes Gray passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the age of 78. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she touched the lives of many. Susan found joy in traveling, teaching, shopping and going to the cinema, but above all, loving moments with her family. Her legacy endures through the hearts of her students at Walker Elementary and Canopy Oaks Elementary in Tallahassee, Florida, where she shared her passion for "Native American Week." Her kind nature extended to her thoughtful handwritten cards, meticulously sent to friends and family for every birthday, holiday, and milestone. Survived by her two sons, Rob Gray (Robert Adams) and Paul Gray (Sarah). She is also survived by her brothers, Tom Keyes, Jeff (Brenda) Keyes and her two grandchildren, Gavin Paul Gray and Campbell Keyes Gray. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 52 years, Robert L. Gray III, and her parents, Paul and Donna Keyes; sister-in-law Tracye Keyes. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church 12663 Perkins Road Baton Rouge, LA 70810. Visitation will take place from 10:30am until services at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Foundation in support of the Lauren Savoy Olinde Endowed Fund, (marybirdfoundation.org/lauren-savoy-olinde). The family would also like to extend our sincere thanks to caregivers at Legacy Hospice, The Barclay House and friend, Tim Toler, for his devoted kindness.
