We gather to grieve the loss of our beloved Sue Thornhill, an exceptional woman whose love and kindness have left an enduring impression on all who had the privilege to know her. Her heart was filled with compassion, serving as a steadfast support for many. Throughout her life, Sue exemplified warmth, generosity, and genuine care for others. She faced life's challenges with grace, resilience, and an unyielding spirit. Even in the toughest times, her love remained unwavering, always guided by good intentions and a heart brimming with kindness.
Mrs. Linda “Sue” McClure, Gould, Thornhill, age 70, of Gonzales, passed away on the morning of Friday, May 23, 2025, at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born on May 31, 1954, in Texas, she was preceded in death by her parents Jack Jones McClure and Lola Jean McClure as well as her sister, Barbara Elaine McClure Book and niece Jullian Rene Book, and is survived by her nephew, Jack T. Babin and great-nephew Cole Ryder Babin.
Sue was preceded in death by her previous husband, David Gould. She is survived by her step daughter-in-law (and spouse), Trina Sullivan (Damain); two step-granddaughters (and spouses), Hannah Stevens (Luke) and Kirsten DiBorgetto (Tyler); and one step-great-granddaughter.
Additionally, she was preceded in death by her late husband, David W. Thornhill; She is survived by; three step-children (and spouses), David L. Thornhill (Penny), Sonia Rock (Ralph), and Leigh Ann Graham (Greg); seven step-grandchildren (and spouses), Sheena Young, David O. Thornhill, Stephen Thornhill (Kristin), Josh Ramirez (Maggi), Logan Leake (Coleman), Brittin Wicker (Ryan), and Blake Graham; as well as eight step-great-grandchildren.

We will honor Sue by carrying forward her compassion, remembering her with every heartfelt smile, her delightful sense of humor, gentle acts, and loving thoughts.
Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Ascension Baptist Church in Gonzales, Louisiana, officiated by Pastor Robert Lawrence. The burial will occur at Green Oaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, LA.
