Stacey Joseph Ducote, a native of Gonzales, LA was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday September 30th at the age of 62.
Stacey graduated from East Ascension High School in 1981. He worked for the Gonzales Police Department and was a member of the F.O.P. for 24 years, while also owning a locksmith business. He then moved on to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He spent much of his time dining in his favorite local restaurants, tinkering with his many inventions, or learning a new hobby. Stacey will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and deep love for Jesus.
He is survived by his children Patrick Long (Shannon), Jesse Ducote (Rachael), Kaylee Aderholt (Shane), and Mali Simoneaux (Patrick); grandchildren Jackson, Ariah, Holden, Jack, Cooper, Corbin, Faye, and Cade. Stacey also leaves behind his siblings: Tommy Ducote (Jill), Steve Ducote (Anita), Van Ducote (Jan), and Doreen Weir (David). He was preceded in death by his parents Merlin Joseph Ducote and Verna Mae Ducote.
Stacey was deeply loved and will be missed by everyone who was blessed to know him.
Visitation will be held on October 8, 2026, at Household of Faith Church in Gonzales, LA from 9:00 am until 11:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00.
