Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalms 23:4
Shelby Lee Jordan was born on December 27, 1955, in Winnsboro, La. to Milfred and Willie Mae Jordan. He transitioned on March 12, 2026, at his home in Grand Isle, LA. He received the Holy Ghost and was baptized at an early age. He always displayed the mannerism of a minister in his everyday walk in life. Shelby was an inspiration and support person to everyone he met. He did not treat anyone as a stranger but met them as a kind and loving person.
Leaving school early to enter the workforce, Shelby went on to build a steady and respected career as a Meat Market Manager and later as a Meat Broker and Salesman in the food industry. Years later, he achieved a personal milestone by earning his GED, something he took great pride in. His hobbies included fishing, drag racing and attending antique car shows along with spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one brother: Jerry (Charlotte) Jordan, Clinton, LA; two stepchildren: Leslie (Deborah) Hughes, Grenada MS; Melinda Hughes Lee, Grenada, MS; three nieces: Jennifer (Jarel) Deason, Amite, LA; Mackenzie Jordan, Robert, LA; Penny Hall, Lake Charles, LA; one nephew: David (Sherry) Guillory, Jackson, LA; 3 great nephews: David Guillory, Dirk Guillory, and Cody Voohries; one great niece: Casey Voohries, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Milfred and Willie Mae Jordan and his sister: Shirley Jordan Guillory.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Shelby's life at First United Pentecostal Church of Clinton, 15474 Highway 10, Clinton, LA, 70722. Visitation will begin at 10:00am with a service at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
