Sandra C. Acaldo

December 5, 1946 — April 12, 2024

Gonzales, LA

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Sandra Acaldo, who left us on Thursday, April 11, 2024. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who touched the lives of everyone she met with her kind heart and gentle spirit. She had a keen appreciation of God's creation, and took note of the beauty of simple things such as yellow butterflies, dew glistening on the grass in the morning sunlight, flowers, birds, etc.

Sandra was a member of St Mark Catholic Church, where she found strength and solace in her faith. She dedicated her life to her family, always lending a helping hand to those in need and offering support and guidance to anyone who needed it.

Sandra was born on December 5, 1946 in Gramercy, Louisiana and graduated from Lutcher High School. She met the love of her life, Charles Acaldo, at a dance in Gramercy (Eddie's) and they were married for 55 years.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Charles Acaldo, 4 children: Dawn Yates (Wayne), Kim Fetters (Jason), Kelly Cantu (Mike) and Charles Jr (Myriam); one sibling, Sister Maria Rose Carter; eight grandchildren: Jalyn, Jason, Olivia and Derran Fetters, Jesse and Seth Acaldo, Haley Guidry and Jacob Albarracin; two great grandchildren: Hayvnn Gonzalez and August Charpentier. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene P. Carter Sr and Evelyn Bourgeois Carter, and brothers: Eugene P. Jr, Bruce and Craig Carter.

The family wishes to thank St. Joseph Hospice for all the care and support for Sandra and our family during our time of need.

Visitation will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church on Friday, April 19th from 9AM until 11AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial. Procession immediately following to Holy Rosary Catholic Church cemetery with burial in St Mark Plaza Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sandra's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, which was close to her heart.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
