Russell Adam Orgeron

September 13, 1928 — March 21, 2024

Russell passed away peacefully at his home with his wife, Rose; of 72 years by his side. Russell was a lifelong resident of St. Amant, LA for the past 70 years. After serving in the military, Russell had many careers as a young man, but eventually went to work for the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development and retired in 1990 after 30+ years with the highway department. His love in life was working outside especially in his garden. He also enjoyed singing Karaoke and playing pool later in life.

Russell is survived by his wife Rose Mary Orgeron, Daughter Evelyn Orgeron Afflerbach & her husband Barry, his grandchildren Russell Templet, Tara Templet, Stacie Sanford, & Aaron Templet and his wife Hattie, as well a his great grandchildren Megan Templet, Reid Templet, Nina Templet, Hunter Sanford, Abbey Sanford, Zachary Templet, Emma Templet, & Madison Templet, and his nephews Phillip Guedry and Kyle Guedry.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Bernie & Agnes Orgeron, his sister Adeline Orgeron Guedry and husband Phillip, and nephews Craig Guedry and Glenn Guedry.

Services will be held on Wednesday, March 27th, 2024 at Holy Rosary Church in St. Amant with family visitation from 9:00am to 9:30am, opens to all friends from 9:30am to 11:00am. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11:00am followed by the internment at the cemetery.

 

May he rest in internal peace, his spirit forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.
