Rudolph V. "Rudy" Ponthier, Jr.

Rudolph V. “Rudy” Ponthier, Jr., native of Avoyelles Parish, LA and resident of Prairieville, LA, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the age of 63. Rudy loved spending time with his family, often cooking and hosting family reunions and pig roasts. He was a hard worker, who always kept busy. He worked as a carpenter and lived by the motto “Do it right the first time”.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife, Karen Ponthier; children, Norbett "T-Man" Mayeaux, Jr. (Danielle) and Jennifer Keane (Brian); grandchildren, Hunter Hatcher, Autumn Mayeaux, Colin Hatcher, Jonelle Bridges; siblings, Debra Ponthier, Sheila Sentilles, Shirley Ponthier, Gloria Armand, Florida Hunt, Jessie J. Ponthier, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

Rudy is preceded in death by his parents Rudolph V., Sr. and Bertha Ponthier; niece and nephew, Danielle Hinton and Steven Ponthier.

A private service to celebrate Rudy’s life will be held at a future date.
