Ruby Edwards Taylor

Ruby Edwards Taylor, a life long resident of Colyell, LA, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on 9/8/2025, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; who cherished her family and GOD above all else. She is survived by her 3 children, Wilma Mitchell, Tish Henderson (Donald), Tommy Watts (Brenda); Grandchildren Ivy Watts (Leslie), Laura Timmons (Michael), Chris Henderson (Jennifer), sister Lillie "Polly" Severio; Great-Grandchildren: Ashlyn Watts, Emily Watts, Kadey Watts, Abbey Watts, Jaxon Shultz, Dawson Shultz, Bryan Timmons, Abel Timmons, Jessica Timmons, Julia Henderson, Charlotte Ruby Henderson, & numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents Eddie and Enus Simpson Edwards; first husband and father of her children, Carlmon Watts; second husband Shelby Taylor, son Curtis Watts; siblings Cecil Edwards, Allen "Butcher" Edwards, Ruth Taylor, Lucille Watts, Ella Dee Martin, and son-in-law Michael Mitchell.

Pallbearers will include Ivy Watts, Chris Henderson, Michael Timmons, Bryan Timmons, Charles Nickens and Louis Delatte, with Dawson Shultz as an honorary pallbearer. 

A funeral service will be held for Ruby on Thursday, 9/18/25 at Cornerstone Reform Church 28280 South Satsuma Rd. Livingston, LA 70754, officiated by Pastor Clint Mitchell. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM with a religious service at 11:00 AM. Graveside services to be held at Blount Cemetery immediately following funeral services.
