Listen to Obituary

Rosalyn Falsetta Griffin, our beloved mother, Granny, and Gigi, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong resident of Donaldsonville, Louisiana, Rosalyn took immense pride in her roots as the daughter of “Big” Ralph Falsetta and Solange Simoneaux Falsetta. Born and raised in Donaldsonville, she cherished her hometown and held dear the memories of her childhood there.

After graduating from Ascension Catholic High School, Rosalyn attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She later married the love of her life, Charles “Charlie” Griffin Sr. Raising a close-knit, loving family was her greatest joy and proudest achievement.

Throughout her life, Rosalyn worked as a receptionist at Agrico Chemical, the Law Office of Talbot, Sotile, Carmouche, Marchand and Marcello, and later retired from the Ascension Parish President’s Office. Her dedication and warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Rosalyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Solange Falsetta; her brother, Raphael “Rip” Falsetta; and her husband, Charlie Griffin. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Falsetta Diez, and her husband Pookie; her sisters-in-law, Judy Falsetta and Nancy DeLeo, and Nancy’s husband, Bruno.

She leaves behind her four devoted children: Chuck and his wife Jean; Margo Martinez Comeaux and her husband Chris; Mia Edwards and her husband Sammy; and Allison Griffin and her husband Eric. Rosalyn was a proud and adoring Granny to Kadiee Martinez, Kandace Martinez, Kolby Martinez (Kaci), Sammy Edwards (Katelyn), Griffin Edwards, London Berthelot (Jace), Charlee Griffin, and Allie Griffin. She was also a cherished Gigi to Brayden Martinez, John Landry, Brysten Martinez, Brianna Martinez, Beaux Martinez, Kai Martinez, Kora Martinez, Theodore Martinez, Emma Grace Edwards, and Brooks Berthelot.

She found her greatest joy in cooking her legendary spaghetti gravy and gathering her loved ones around the table. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted Catholic who prayed the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet. Her unwavering faith was the foundation of her life and a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her. She was the heart of our family. Her home was always filled with warmth, love, and laughter.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, loving guidance, and the beautiful memories she created with her family. Her legacy of love, faith, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Kolby Martinez, Sammy Edwards, Griffin Edwards, Brayden Martinez, Brysten Martinez, and John Landry.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to St. Joseph Hospice, especially nurses Melissa Mistretta and Jamie Hall, for their compassionate care. A special thank you to Roselyn White and Kadiee Martinez for their loving support and care allowing her to remain at home in the comfort of her family during the final months of her life. The family also extends thanks to Reenie Laginess for lending a helping hand.
