Ronnie Gilbert Jackson, 63, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026.
Born on August 5, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, Ronnie lived in Lockport, Joliet, and Elwood, Illinois before eventually making his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He dedicated over 25 years of service to Union Local 150/Countryside.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Darbi McDonald Jackson; his stepson, Kerry Turner Jr. and wife LeAnn Turner; and his cherished grandsons, Jack, Myles, and Nolan Turner. He also leaves behind his beloved mother-in-law, Myrtis Gayle McDonald.
He is survived by his brothers, James “Jimbo” Jackson, Owen Clark Jr. and wife Shari Clark, and Anthony C. Jackson; his sister-in-law, Mary Jackson; and a special nephew, Justin Werner. He is also remembered fondly by his sisters- and brothers-in-law, Darleen and Randy Montalbano Sr., Deb and George Day, and Mary Ann and Harold McDonald Jr.
Ronnie shared a special bond with his cousin, Catherine Burgoni, and will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind close friends Terri and Chuck Toler, Doreen Sanchez, Laurie Harff, Allen and Cindy Stringer, as well as many dear friends from Pathway Church in Sherwood, Illinois, including pastors Mr. and Mrs. Jim Revelle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Jackson; his mother, Bobbie Carol Clark; his stepfather, Owen Clark Sr.; his sisters, Vickie Jackson and Cindy Werner; his brother, Keith “Kiki” Jackson; his brother-in-law, Timothy Werner Sr.; his nephew, Timothy Werner Jr.; and his best friend, Mark Harff.
A celebration of Ronnie’s life will be held on March 30,2026 at Vineyard Church on Tiger Bend Road at 5:00 PM. All who knew and loved Ronnie are invited to attend and honor his memory.
Ronnie will never be forgotten. His warm smile and contagious laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
