Ronald E. "Ron" Peterson

Ronald E. Peterson, native of New Orleans and resident of Gonzales, LA, passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age 82.

Ron was a member of The Church International in St Amant, LA for many years and served on the Cooking for Christ Team. He wanted to always be in the kitchen with his favorite group of people, serving the children that attended The Church Academy. Ron was the seafood boiler at Don’s Seafood in Hammond, La for 10 years and was proud of everything he boiled! He also loved to fish! He always had his fishing pole in the back of his truck everywhere he went. Spending time with his family was also something he enjoyed. He was very close to his two great nieces and great nephew Angelina, Alli Mae and Evan.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Gina Perez (Alvarez); son, Ronald E. Peterson Jr; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane & Bobby Cumbaa & Charlotte & Dennis Vice Sr.; his niece and nephew, who were his caretakers for many years, Torie & Joshua Smith as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Adele Rodriguez Babin and Daniel Peterson; stepfather, Charles E Babin; brother, Joseph A Babin Sr.; sisters, Joyce Simoneaux & Shirley Dugas.

Funeral services will be held at The Church International of St. Amant from 10am until service time at 11am with burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church cemetery of French Settlement.

Joshua D Smith, Evan J Vice, Dennis J Vice Jr, Deric Murphy, Carter Murphy & Prestin Holifield will serve as pallbearers.
