Roma Fay Harris Mullins, age 86, of Gonzales, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024. She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and graduated from Istrouma High School. In August of 1957, she married the love of her life, Sam A Mullins Jr., and they spent 66 wonderful years together.
Roma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She never missed an event that her children were involved in and loved serving her family and friends. Roma was actively involved in her church and enjoyed going on youth trips when her children were growing up. She loved to travel and was always ready to go on vacation.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Sam Mullins Jr.; children, April Mobley (Paul), Aaron Mullins (Sherry); grandchildren, Caleb Mobley (Lydia), Joshua Mobley (Kasey), Katie, Kristen, and Nathaniel Mullins, Hannah Thornton (Joel), Chris, Matt and Tanner Dedon; great-grandchildren, Judah, Lucy, and Charlie Mobley, James and Liam Thornton; as well as her godchild, Jennifer Roy Oliver; brother and sister-in-law, Carroll Harris Jr. and Diana Harris; sister, Elaine Roy, and many other extended family members.
Roma was predeceased by her parents, Berlin Carroll Harris Sr. and Viola Dawson Harris; her son, Art Mullins; brother-in-law, Vic Roy; nephew, Jeff Harris; sister-in-law, Tola Rushing (Arter); brothers-in-law, Claude (Lila), Joe (Yvonne), and Valgene (Thelma) Mullins.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. A visitation for Roma will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Ascension Baptist Church, followed by a Celebration of Roma's Life at 11:00 AM.
