Roger was born in Santiago De Cao, Peru to Balbina Caceres and Victor Manuel Charcap.  From a very early age Roger showed an innate sense of duty and responsibility towards his family.  He was a very kind man and always looked for the best in people.  He loved his wife Lucy Otinano Charcap, married over fifty years, children and extended family deeply.  Roger lived the majority of his life in the Northern area of Peru transferring to the capital, Lima, to pursue better job opportunities upon graduating from the National University of Trujillo in Peru.  There he managed numerous financial departments for various companies while raising his four children with his wife Lucy.  He loved being with his family and friends. He loved to read and discuss all topics, especially philosophy.  He and his wife often welcomed their family, friends and childrens' friends into their home and greeted everyone with wisdom, kindness, and love. As his children got older to pursue their future, the family settled in Louisiana and Texas. In Baton Rouge Roger worked for EBR Head Start for almost ten years before retiring. He loved watching his grandchildren grow up and spending numerous family gatherings.

Roger loved sports and was an avid soccer player and fan.  He loved watching his grandson Roy play soccer and later on his great grandsons. He also enjoyed basketball and followed the Peruvian teams constantly.  Any time you would visit his house you would be sure to hear a soccer game playing on a tv. His favorite day was spent with his wife cooking her delicious Peruvian food, his family in his home, and a soccer game on tv.

He is preceded in death by wife Lucy Otinano Charcap, mother Balbina Charcap Caceres, father Victor Manuel Charcap, sister Iris Charcap, sister Elsa Charcap Bravo, brother Victor Manuel II, and daughter Marisa Charcap Iglesias. He lived for his family and lived to make them happy.
