Robert "Robbie" L. Mizell Sr., a native of New Orleans and resident of Covington, Louisiana, died Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the age of 85.

Robbie entered the service at the age of 18, serving his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he was employed by Boh Bros. Construction Co., from which he later retired.

He enjoyed watching LSU sports and New Orleans Saints football. He also enjoyed spending time at the camp on Lake Pontchartrain. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, riding motorcycles and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer T. Mizell and Audrey Cline Mizell, and his brother, Wayne T. Mizell.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Riche Mizell, to whom he was married to for 68 years. He is also survived by his three children and their families: His daughter, Barbara Staub (Matthew), and grandchildren, Guy Robert and Laura Staub. His daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Casarez, and grandchildren, Cassidy McFarland (Debbie) and Alexandra Cashio (Daniel); and great-grandchildren, Audriana Porrazzo, John "Sal" Cashio, Christopher Vuillemont, and Lauren Vuillemont; and great-great grandchild Elijah Vuillemont. His son, Robert "Bobby" L. Mizell, Jr. (Tracey), grandson Beau Mizell (Micah); and great- grandson, Cypress Mizell.

The family extends its sincere gratitude to the nurses of Foundations Hospice, Stephanie, McKenna, and Rachel for their compassionate care.
