Robert Erwin Marler III, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, hard work, and unwavering love for his family.

Earlier in life, Robert achieved the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout and received the Order of the Arrow, accomplishments that reflected the leadership, integrity, and character he carried throughout his life. He was also a member of American Legion Post in St Gabriel, Louisiana.

Robert devoted many years of his professional career to designing and managing construction of petroleum and chemical plants around the world before retiring from ECI Group Engineering. He was a man who appreciated life's simple pleasures and especially enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing. A lifelong fan of the LSU Tigers and an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. Whether spending time outdoors with family and friends or cheering on his favorite teams, Robert found joy in the moments shared with those he loved.

More than any accomplishment, Robert cherished his family and neighbors, the Dukes. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose greatest happiness came from spending time with those closest to him.

He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Marler Lanoux and her husband, Shannon; his son, Robert Erwin Marler IV and his wife, Alicia; his cherished grandchildren, Joleigh Hartman, Jordan Hartman Braud and her husband, Payton, and Jamie Helen Olive Marler; his stepsons, Nathan Lutz, Adam Lutz, and Ryan Lutz; his brothers, Michael Marler, John Marler, and David Marler and his wife, Laura; his sisters, Kitty Marler Britain and her husband, Scott, and Marion Marler Bendixen and her husband, Robert; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
