Richard Allen Gordy Sr., a dedicated member of Local 198 and New River Lodge #402 in Gonzales, Louisiana, passed away on May 14, 2026, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born on April 24, 1949, in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Mr. Gordy’s career reflected a steadfast commitment to his profession and community, where he was known for his skill and reliability. Beyond his professional endeavors, Richard found joy and relaxation in playing guitar, fishing, and spending time with his beloved canine companions, Boots and Judge.

A proud family man, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Becki Gordy. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Gordy; sons, Richard Allen Gordy Jr., along with his wife Heather, and Stephen Gordy; and brother, and John Gordy and his wife Jerry. Richard’s family legacy extends to six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held him in high esteem.

Richard Allen Gordy Sr. will be remembered for his dedication to his craft, the warmth he shared with his family, and his enduring passions.
