Randy"Duck" Paul Duplessis

Randy “DUCK” Paul Duplessis, 70, was born on April 22, 1956, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and lived his life in Gonzales, Louisiana. He passed away on September 11, 2026.

Randy was born to Helen M. Ogden and Russell T. Duplessis. He leaves behind Robert Duplessis, Brenda Leblanc, his four children, two sons-in-law, his daughter’s partner, eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. And many others. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Duplessis, and his beloved Boo Boo, Lori Richardson, brother Dennis Duplessis, and Connie McCommick

Randy was a one-of-a-kind man with a creative soul. He loved to color and draw, and music was a huge part of his life. He loved sitting at his piano, playing the keys while watching the little clowns dance along to the music. It was one of his favorite things to show anyone who would stop and watch him.

He loved riding his bike, playing his harmonica, and, of course, cooking. Anyone who had the chance to eat Randy’s BBQ knows he could make some of the best BBQ you ever tasted.

His dog, Roxie, held a very special place in his heart. The love he had for her was undeniable, and she was a treasured part of his life.

But above all, Randy was a father, grandfather, brother, and loved one whose memory will continue through the family he leaves behind.

For his daughter, there is one thing that says more than anything else: “I loved every minute I spent with my dad.”

Those moments are now priceless—the music, the conversations, the laughter, the things he created, and simply being together. Those are the memories that will be carried forever.

Randy may no longer be here to play his piano, draw, ride his bike, play his harmonica, or make his famous BBQ, but the memories he created and the love he gave will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Rest peacefully, Dad. You were loved, you are deeply missed, and you will never be forgotten. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at OLOL Ascension and The Crossing at Clarity Hospice 

At this time, there will be no formal funeral service. The family has chosen to honor Randy privately and in their own way.
