Phillip Jordan Pekins Sr a native of Whitehall, New York and a long time resident of Gonzales, Louisiana changed residency to Heaven on Wednesday December 27,2023 at the age of 81. Phillip proudly served in the United States Army for 9 years with a tour to Vietnam earning several metals and was honorably discharged with a rank of E5. He had a strong love of his country and the armed forces. He also loved serving Faithfully at St Amant Baptist Church as deacon, usher and Sunday school teacher. Phillip and his wife Betty also had a ministry where they would host Gods servants in their home from around the world and supply them with housing, food,encouragement, friendship and send them on their way to serve others. Phillip was an electrical engineer by trade. He enjoyed traveling ,spending time at his hunting camp, communicating on his ham radio and spending time with his family. Phillip is survived by his children and their spouses Phillip(Donna)Pekins Jr, Charles(Beth)Pekins, David Brewer. He is the beloved PawPaw to Felicia,Erica,Natalie,Noah,Claire,Charlie,Christian,Crystal,Keith Jr., Bryce. Phillip is proceeded in death by his beloved wife Betty Pekins and his son Keith Pekins Sr, his mother Pauline Melius , sisters and brothers, Donald Jordan, Bertha Neddos, Shirley Pekins, David Pekins, Larry Pekins. Visitation will be Tuesday January 2,2024 at Fundamental Baptist Church 24240 S.Frost Rd, Livingston.La from 10:00-12:00. Service will begin at noon with a funeral procession immediately after to lay Mr Phillip to rest next to his wife at St Amant Baptist Church 10414 Acy Rd,St Amant La. Everyone is welcome to join the family back at Fundamental Baptist Church in the fellowship hall to share in a meal with the family.
