Patrick Ryan Husband departed this life on July 18, 2026.

Patrick was born November 17, 1985, in Bossier City, Louisiana to Tim and Patricia Husband. He graduated from Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he lettered in football, and then attended Louisiana State University (LSU). An avid Boy Scout, Patrick developed a love for all things outdoors, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout in 2004.

Whether fishing, camping, hiking, bike riding or gardening, if it could be done outdoors, Patrick did it and loved doing it. He was a talented landscape artist, a passion he pursued throughout his life. He was especially proficient in growing orchids and loved nurturing his bonsai trees.

Fishing was one of Patrick’s favorite pastimes, but his true vocation, and the light of his life, was his daughter Carlee Grace. Combining the best of both worlds, Patrick would cradle baby Carlee in a halter on his chest while he fished from the shore of a nearby lake. Time spent with Carlee brought Patrick joy and his love for her was reflected in his smile.

Patrick was a dog lover, his favorite being his rat terrier Trixie Doodle, who he enjoyed training. Like many of his family members, Patrick could fix just about anything. He made his own arrows when he was in his archery phase and tied his own fishing flies. Patrick excelled at analyzing problems and finding solutions. He loved to read and was a hard worker. Patrick spent many years working in the landscaping and lawn maintenance business in New Orleans and Baton Rouge and employers praised his excellent work ethic.

Patrick had a great smile, was witty, charming, intelligent, creative, and had a wicked sense of humor. And that guy LOVED peanut butter!

Called Ryan by friends, Patrick was always willing to help others. He was good with his hands and was self-taught in so many disciplines. Patrick had that rare gift of motivating and supporting others in their journey to self-improvement. Patrick’s friends have expressed their appreciation for his intelligence and patience as he helped them learn computer skills. He taught many adults to read, was kind and compassionate to all, and routinely expressed his gratitude to those around him.

Baptized into the Catholic faith as an infant, Patrick, like many, wandered from the Church as an adult. But Patrick knew and acknowledged that God loved him and was working in his life, and he had slowly begun making his way back to his faith.

What we will remember most is Patrick’s persistence in the face of life’s seemingly insurmountable challenges. He knew that no act of kindness, no matter how small, was ever wasted. We ask that you honor Patrick’s memory by following his example to always be kind, because everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Our sweet Patrick was so loved and will be sorely missed.

Patrick was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles George Parker, Jr. and Audrey Tobin Parker and his grandfather Elmond Haskell Husband. He is survived by his daughter, Carlee Grace Husband Nolen, parents, Joseph Timothy Husband and Patricia Parker Husband, his grandmother, Dorothea Hartner Husband, siblings Catherine Husband Hernandez (Kip) and James Parker Husband (Jen), niece, Julia Hernandez, nephew, Alex Hernandez, and aunts, uncles, and cousins too numerous to name.

Funeral services will be August 1, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Prairieville, LA. Visitation will be from 8:30 am to 10:45 a.m. A rosary will be said at 9 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:45 am. Internment will be at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park in Prairieville.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Patrick’s name to St. Vincent de Paul in Baton Rouge.
