Patricia Ann Starkey, affectionately known as TrishAnn, was a vibrant spirit who graced the world with her presence from December 2, 1961, until August 19, 2025. Born in Hammond, Louisiana, Patricia was a beloved member of her community and is remembered for her diverse career, primarily as a painter in shipyards and plants, though she often remarked that she had dabbled in a little bit of everything.
Throughout her life, Patricia cherished spending time with her family, creating memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of her loved ones. Her interests included traveling and enjoying the occasional trip to the casino, pastimes that brought her joy and excitement.
Surviving Patricia are her devoted children: Tonya Collins and Jason, Leslie Shaffett and Emily, Lenore Starkey, Steven Starkey and Samantha, and Tony Starkey. She was a proud grandmother to Paige Gros and Nicholas, Jason Collins Jr and Abby, Justin Shaffett and Destiny, Elyssa Duncan and Brandon, Izacc Duncan, Jaelyn Duncan, Chesli Starkey, and Hope Andrews. Patricia also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren Riley Gros, Ezekiel Smith, and Cayson Hull, her brother Kenneth Shaffett and Shelia, her best friend Beverly Mayeaux, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, each of whom she held dear. She is also survived by her family at Ponchatoula Community Care Center.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Mary Sanders Shaffett, her sister Susan Shaffett, and her life companion Horace Ray Starkey.
In this time of sorrow, Patricia's family and friends will cherish the remarkable legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of love, resilience, and creativity. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her memory will be a source of comfort and strength for all. Patricia Ann Starkey will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
In accordance with her wishes, a cremation was held, and services will be held privately by the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given and will be used by the family to honor TrishAnn's life and memory.
