Pamela Susan Cappel

Pamela Susan Cappel, 71, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at her home on August 29, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. While her family grieves her loss, they celebrate a life filled with love, creativity, kindness, and countless cherished memories.

Born on November 16, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Pam had a remarkable gift for making people feel loved and welcome. Whether she was preparing a home-cooked meal, creating something beautiful with her hands, or planning a holiday gathering, she poured her heart into everything she did. Her kitchen was often the center of family life, where delicious meals and treasured traditions brought loved ones together.

More than anything, Pam loved celebrations. No holiday was too small to decorate for, prepare for, and enjoy with family. She delighted in creating magical memories, carrying on traditions, and finding reasons to gather the people she loved around her. From festive holiday meals to birthdays and special occasions, she made every celebration feel meaningful and memorable.

Pam was preceded in death by her mother, Pat Jourdan; her brother, Dean Perry; and her beloved son, David Cappel.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Sam Cappel; her loving children, Robin Cappel Greenhaw and Jonathan Cappel; and her cherished grandchildren, Pierce and Poppy Greenhaw, Christian, Gracie, and Wyatt Cappel, and Remy and Beau Cappel. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, warmth, and generous spirit.

Though she will be deeply missed, Pam's legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the meals she shared, and the family gatherings that will forever remind her loved ones of her presence. Her love remains woven into the lives of all who knew her.

She will be remembered always, loved forever, and missed beyond measure. May she rest in peace.

A visitation will be held for Pam on Saturday, September 5th, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a religious service to follow at Woodland Park Baptist Church 1909 J W Davis Dr. Hammond, LA 70403.
