With profound sadness and hearts full of cherished memories, the family of Ollie Johnson announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the age of 85.

Born on a spring day in 1940, Ollie was a beacon of light and love from the very beginning. She was a woman whose infectious laughter could fill a room and whose wise, understanding nature made her a haven for all who knew her. To be in her presence was to feel truly seen, heard, and loved without condition.

A devoted mother, she leaves behind a powerful legacy in her two children, James Johnson (Deborah) and June Johnson, who will forever cherish her unwavering guidance and the joyful spirit she brought to their lives. Her brother, Obie Starwood Jr. (Lynn), will hold dear the memories of a lifelong bond and shared history. She is also survived by nephews Ramon and Kamari Eady.

She is preceded in death by brothers Robert and Taylor Starwood, and sister Darryl Starwood Eady.

Ollie's greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a doting grandmother to her six grandchildren and a beloved "GG" to her nine great-grandchildren. Each one was a light in her life. She was a woman of incredible strength and grace, navigating life with a quiet dignity and a sharp, witty sense of humor that remained with her until the end. Her home was always open, her table always had an extra plate, and her heart had an infinite capacity for kindness. She was a trusted confidante, a fount of practical wisdom, and the undeniable matriarch who held the family’s story together.

Her understanding nature taught us the power of listening, and her infectious personality reminded us to find joy in the simple moments. The lessons she imparted, the love she gave so freely, and the memory of her radiant smile will continue to guide and inspire her family for generations to come.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing her remarkable spirit lives on in each life she touched. We will miss her deeply, but we will forever celebrate the beautiful, long life of a truly extraordinary woman.
