Nina Neal Bankston

Nina Neal Bankston passed away peacefully on December 19, 2023 at Summerfield Assisted Living in Slidell. She was born on December 7, 1959 to Janie Gaydos Neal and Harney Neal in Albany, La. Nina was very proud of her Hungarian Ancestry and her Louisiana roots. She moved to Nashville, TN for several years but returned to Louisiana a few years ago.

Nina is survived by her husband Pat Bankston, her father Harney Neal, four siblings, Debi Bankston(Don), Michael Neal(Tina), Mandy Ripoll(Kenny), Tracey Doran(Mike), stepsister Marci Rottmann Templet, stepfather Louis(Beetle) Rottmann, stepbrother Troy LeBeouf(Mitz), stepsister Vickie Boudreaux(Leon) and stepmother Jean Neal. Also several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Nina was preceded in death by her mother, Janie Gaydos Rottmann, her maternal grandparents Frank and Mary Nemeth Gaydos, her paternal grandparents Harney C Neal and Lillian McCarroll Neal and cousin Mark Stephen DeArmond.

Thank you to family and friends for your prayers, love, visits, cards and concern during this difficult journey. Special thanks and gratitude to Summerfield Assisted Living and Passion Hospice for their compassionate care and concern given to Nina and her family during her illness.

A celebration of Nina's life will be held at a later date.
