Milton Darrell “Zip” Purvis

Milton Darrell Purvis was Born on October 03,1958 and went home to be with His Lord on May 06, 2023. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

He was a truck driver and diesel mechanic for many years. He was an avid NASCAR fan! He loved to fish. He loved his family and adored his daughter Jennifer and granddaughter Raelyn Marie. Most of all he loved his Lord Jesus. Darrell was a kind and generous person who was always willing to help anyone who was in need.

Darrell is survived by his Daughter Jennifer Marie Purvis. Granddaughter Raelyn Marie Patteson; Sisters, Linda Dupre, Joyce Davis and Judy Hill (Malcolm). Uncle Gerald and Aunt Glennie Rogers; Dear friend, Russell McLin; Former wives Paula Purvis and Kay Purvis; Stepchildren Brad LeBlanc and Sha’ Hallford; close nephew, Lawrence Martin and many other nieces and nephews.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents Newton Purvis and Doris Purvis. Sisters, Opal Martin and Virgie Langlois and nephew Brad Martin.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday May 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Durbin Cemetery in Independence, LA where he will be laid to rest next to his Dad, which was his wish.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday May 12, 2023 at the home of Jennifer Purvis between 2 PM and 7 PM for anyone who wishes to visit with the family and share memories. If you would like to bring a dish, feel free.
