Listen to Obituary

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, Michael James Wehrer. He passed away peacefully, on October 14, 2025, at the age of 77, after a long and brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

Mike was born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 29, 1948, to Charles and Lois Wehrer. He married the love of his life, Peggy Ann, on August 28, 1965, and together they raised four wonderful children.

He earned his bachelor's degree in business from Bellevue University in 1977 and later went on to achieve a master's in computer science and Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems. A proud US Navy veteran, Mike went on to build a successful 31-year career as an Electrical Engineer with Alcoa, where he combined his passion for technology and problem solving. Mike lived life to the fullest. He loved traveling in his RV, and -above all-spending time with his family.

Known for his wit, generous spirit, and unwavering kindness, he was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passing leaves a profound void, but his love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his presence.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Peggy Ann Wehrer; His children, Kimberly (Brad), Edward (Laurie), Michael (Mary), and Christopher (Kelly); His grandchildren, Brittany (Mark), Madison, Harper, Zoey, Sam, Corey (Leslie), and Kacie (Tanner); And his great-grandchildren, Aubree, Peyton, Beckham, Cooper, Benson and Bradley; He is also survived by his brother Glenn (Betsy).
