Michael Wayne Mitchell

Michael Wayne Mitchell was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on January 16, 1949 and was surrounded by his family when he passed away on December 25, 2023 at the age of 74.  He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.  He was part of the first graduating class of East Ascension High School in 1967 and retired after 30 plus years from Uniroyal Chemical/Lion Copolymer.  

Preceded in death by wife, Katy; mother Lois Vance Mitchell; father Millard James Mitchell.

 He is survived by his two sons, Vance and Courtney; four grandchildren, Marti, Mallory, Luke, & Cole; sister, Jane Mitchell and his dog Zeus.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Grand Isle.  

​A private ceremony for immediate family and close friends will be held at a later date.
