Michael “Kooter” Roland Kuehne passed away at Oschner’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA on July 27th, 2026, at the age of 46.

Born on September 30th, 1979, Michael grew up in Greenwell Springs, LA, as a country boy surrounded by his love for nature, hunting, fishing, and helping out with the family’s swine farm. He showed hogs at many 4H shows throughout his youth and despite troubles experienced during his adolescence, he would eventually graduate from Central High School. Later on in life, he would earn an Associate’s degree of Science in Business Administration from Colorado Technical University in February of 2023. Michael worked as a scaffolder offshore in the Gulf of Mexico for Danos via Performance Energy Services. Beloved by many of his coworkers and recognized for his work ethic and capabilities, he led projects and directed his peers on tasks relating to their scaffolding work with keenness and attentiveness. Michael was also the founder and owner of 100% Wood in Greenwell Springs, LA–a firewood supply company serving the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas where he provided seasoned cooking and heating hardwoods for pickup and delivery for both residential families and commercial businesses.

A hardworking man who had endured numerous hardships throughout his life among involvements with the law, Michael never stopped working to better himself for his community and his children. He took immense pride in being self-sufficient and fixing things on his own, volunteering his mechanic skills to family and friends, helping loved ones with projects, doing side-gigs and other work, and most importantly, he was a devout believer of Christ who gave his life to God and strived to live in the image of the Lord everyday of his life. He read the Bible continuously, gave blessings before every meal, shared the word of the gospel to his loved ones and those he interacted with, prayed for those who were struggling, and lived at peace with the belief that one day he would return home to our father in Heaven, albeit regrettably too soon.

Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Emilia Julia Durr Kühne and Josef Kühne and his maternal grandparents Clotilde Facundus Fairchild and Robert Morgan Fairchild. He is survived by his beloved children Mia Adaire Kuehne, Jett Michael Kuehne, and Kason Maddox Kuehne; along with his former partner’s child he helped raise and cared for, Jude Bernard; his parents, Roland Kuehne and Patricia Diane Fairchild Kuehne; his half-brother Robert “Robbie” Charles McCrory, Robbie’s wife Gaye McCrory and their daughter Morgan; his maternal aunt Pamela Camile Cooley Fairchild and his cousin Max Cooley; his paternal uncle Rolf Kühne and his cousin Mintra Kühne.

To his family, Michael’s loss is an unbearable sorrow that leaves behind a gap where he once fit the piece for. His profound love and dedication towards his children was evident above all else in his life, and his passing has deeply affected his children who looked to him whenever in need and loved him with all their hearts. His parents, heartbroken by the loss of their son, persist nonetheless in continuing his memory and supporting their grandchildren through this tragic loss. His endearing smile, mischievous laugh, unwavering faith, and persistent dedication to those who needed him will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

The family appreciates the thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
