Michael (Mike) Louis Doyle, 86, of Baton Rouge, LA, said goodbye on January 1, 2026, in Baton Rouge. He was born November 27, 1939, in Dallas, TX. His parents were Eugene Sanders Doyle and Olive Merle Owen Doyle.
He grew up in Shreveport, LA, where he graduated from CE Byrd High School. He attended Louisiana Tech University in Rustin, LA, where he played on the tennis team.
In the early 1960s, he served in the US Air Force. Most of his service was on a missile base in Kansas.
He moved to Baton Rouge, and attended Louisiana State University, where he studied accounting. He stayed in the city, where he became a real estate agent, earning his license in 1977. He worked with several real estate companies, eventually founding his own company, Mike Doyle and Associates. In Baton Rouge, he met Carolyn, also in real estate. Mike and Carolyn would remain together until Mike’s death.
He was an active member of the Cortana Kiwanas Club, serving terms in various offices, including president. He published the newsletter many years and worked on scores of fundraising, charitable, and community projects. He received recognition and numerous awards, including the Hixson Award, for his service.
He played tennis throughout his adult life, and he was a member of the Highland Park Tennis Association, serving in various offices in the organization.
He enjoyed sailing, beach time, lunching with friends and family, and being with people. He was an enthusiastic LSU Tigers fan. He loved children; as one of Carolyn’s grandchildren said, “He got to see many years of grandkids and great grandkids that were to him his own flesh and blood.” He loved Baton Rouge and did his part to make it a better city.
He was predeceased by his father, Eugene Sanders Doyle; his mother Olive Merle Owen Doyle; and his younger brother, Patrick Joseph Doyle.
