Melissa Jo DeLatte (Missy) of Baton Rouge, who worked at Catholic Presbyterian Apartments for over 20 years, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, of an unexpected heart attack. She was 53 years old. Missy was born on October 6, 1970, in Baton Rouge.

Her father is Larry Wayne Daniels.  Later in life she was adopted by her Stepfather, Donald Perkins, whom she dearly loved. He nicknamed her “Mistletoe”.  However, her siblings fondly called her “Sister Doodle”!  Missy’s hobbies included doing diamond art and flower gardening. She absolutely loved cleaning and organizing anything and started her own business. Missy had a servant’s heart and would do for all. She loved you for who you were and never expected anything in return. She just wanted to be a help. Never having her own children, Missy’s family was so fortunate to be the recipient of her love, devotion, and attention.

She is survived by her Fiancée, Curt Mitchener of Baton Rouge; Mother, Diane Frances Landon and her husband, Randy Landon of Baker; Sister, Shanon Nicole Chenevert and Brother, Michael Eugene Daniels, both from Prairieville; Step-grandmother, Janie McDaniel of Baker; Step-sister , Dona Marie Perkins of Granite Shoals, Texas; Nieces, Brenna Gay of Livingston, Meelah Daniels and Paisley Adams of Baton Rouge, and Amy Wheeler of Granite Shoals, Texas.   Missy is preceded in death by her Stepfather, Donald Perkins; Grandmother, Arlene McDaniel; Grandfather, Brady McDaniel; Uncle, Brady McDaniel, Jr.; Aunt, Stacey Spillman; and Nephew, David Baker.
