He passed away at Baton Rouge General on Bluebonnet in Baton Rouge, LA due to health conditions on July 12,2023. he is survived by two daughters Felena Merritt of Denham Springs, LA and a son in law Tommy Merritt of Denham Springs ,La and Suzanne Murray of Greenville, MS and four grandchildren Tiffany Merritt of Baton Rouge ,La ,Thomas .C. Merritt of Denham Springs ,La ,Samantha Lewis of Greenville, MS ,and Jonathon Kirkland of Greenville ,MS .And eight  great grandchildren Haley Lewis of Greenville, MS ,Taylor Lewis of Greenville, MS ,Aiden Harris of Baton Rouge, LA, Amelia Harris of Baton Rouge, LA, Brayden Harris of Baton Rouge, LA ,and Maliyah Harris of Baton Rouge, LA, Bryson Kirkland of Greenville ,MS ,and Chloe Kirkland of Greenville, MS .three sisters Elizabeth Ann Dinning of Greenville, MS ,Darlene Beliew of AR, and Debra Gladney of Amory ,Ms. The memorial will be held on Saturday July 15,2023 at 11am. Kedron Baptist Church 922 highway 1046 Amite, LA 70422 will host the memorial.
