Mark Morvant known as “Chief” to many, passed away April 24, 2026, at the age of 55.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, a steady presence, source of strength, and wisdom for his family. Known for his hard work, strong beliefs, witty words, poems, and his sense of humor. He touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of getting to know him. He was the kind of man who showed love through what he did. He worked hard, showed up when it mattered, and made sure his family was taken care of no matter what. He wasn’t perfect, but he was real and that’s what made him so special. More than anything, he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Morvant, his sister Michaleen Cullum and husband Robert Cullum; and their daughter Cheyenne Cullum. His oldest son Devin Morvant and his wife Brittany Morvant, their children Elias and Lilly. His daughter Keira Morvant and fiancé Cody Gainey, their children Avery and Allison, as well as his youngest son Brandon Morvant.
He is proceeded in death by his Father Walter Morvant and Mother Kathleen Fly.
He leaves behind so many people who loved him deeply. We will carry him in our hearts and hold on tight to all our wonderful memories. This isn't goodbye, we will see you later.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday May 2nd at 12 pm at the Journey Community Church; 380 S 7th St, Ponchatoula, LA 70454
