A native of Union and a resident of Orange Grove in Burnside, she passed away at 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 14, 2024. She was 89 years old and a retired hostess of The Cabin restaurant. She was preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Marie Louise Trabeau Jumonville and her eight siblings, brothers Dalton, Edward and Adolph “Buck” Jr. and sisters Ethel, Ida, Aray, Doris, and Myrtle. She married Clyde Thaddeus Schexnaydre of Burnside. She was devoted to her children Blaine and his wife Jane Schexnaydre and their three children Justin, Isabella, and Colby and their daughter Stacey Schexnaydre. She loved tending to her yard and picking pecans and fiercely guarded her divinity fudge recipe.

She is survived by her brother-in-law Clyde Paul Waguespack and her five sister-in-laws Ione Schexnaydre LeBlanc, Carmen “Lady” Daigle Schexnaydre, Francis Foster Schexnaydre, Agnes Martine Schexnaydre, and Lillie Mae “Dolly” Jumonville. She was honored to be godmother of Charlene Melancon, Linda Decoteau and Vickie Brown.

Services will be held on Friday January 19, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Darrow, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM with Mass following. Entombment will be at Ascension of Our Lord Mausoleum in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. Pallbearers will be Al Chauvin, Edward Jumonville Jr., Kody Robert, Norris Melancon, Kennie Ridgdell, and Duane Dunlap.

The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Our Lady of the Lake Ascension and her doctors and care staff. Arrangements by Church Funeral Services and Crematory in St. Amant, Louisiana.
