Marie Adine “Dennie” Mire Henley

Marie Adine Henley, also known as Dennie, passed away on April 14, 2023, at the age of 79, in Gonzales, LA. She was born on January 12, 1944, in Romeville, LA, to Lydia and Dudley Mire Sr. Dennie was a loving person who was devoted to her family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. Dennie was survived by her children Beverly Frederic (Conrad) Nick, Amanda and Landon Davis, Markay Denham (Thad) Zac Denham, Clark Gale, Camryn and Daniel Fairley, Rick Henley (Lisa) Erica Kennett (Jason) Braden, Rhett, Gracie, and Khloe, Russ Henley (Aggie) Ela and Tre’. She was also survived by her siblings Lyle Mire (Rita), Adele Powers, and Priscilla Boudreaux (Beanie). Dennie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dick Henley, her parents, and her brother Dudley Mire Jr (Plug). Dennie had a passion for raising Arabian horses, which she did with her husband Dick for over 50 years. They were well-known in the local equestrian community for their expertise and passion for the breed. A visitation will be held on April 26, 2023, at St. Theresa Church at 9:00 am, followed by a mass at 11:00 am. The internment in Hope Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, Ovarian Cancer Research Association, Mary Bird Perkins, or St. Jude’s.
