Lovey Arceneaux Brown

Lovey A Brown passed away peacefully at Ascension Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gonzales, LA on September 10,2025 surrounded by her family. She was 84 years old. She was born on December 11, 1940, in Orleans Parish and was a lifelong resident of Gonzales, LA. She Graduated from Gonzales High School in 1958. On April 29, 1958, she married her husband of 67years James (Cotton) Brown Sr.

She loved to have a good time and making people laugh by telling jokes, dancing, bowling, and playing cards.

She is survived by her husband James (Cotton) Brown Sr., her son James (Rudy) Brown Jr., Three daughters and their spouses Rhonda B Hood (Embry), Ranette B Newgard (Terry)and Renee B Samuel (William). Four grandkids and their spouses. Sr. Chief Kerry Hood, USN (Rayna), Lacey Brown (Tyler), Kyle Brown (Kaci), and Conner Braud (Taylor). Six great grandkids Mark Rossi Jr., Benjamin and Caselyn Brown, Brayden Hood, Olivia Brown and Declan Braud. Her granddaughter-in-laws Samantha and Ashton Brown

Preceded in death by her parents Henry and Mulcy Arceneaux, her father and Mother-in-law, Rudolph and Vivan Brown. Her sibling and their spouses Ted Arceneaux (Kathy), Marie Richard (Jimmy). Son-in-law Randy J Braud. And three grandsons Chad Brown, Cameron Hood, and Mark Brown Sr. and her fur baby of 18 years Jazzy.

A Memorial service will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Gonzales, on Monday, October 13, 2025, with visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 am, and with mass to follow. Friends and guests are invited to the graveside following mass. Internment will take place at Serenity Oaks, in Prairieville, LA.
