Lora 'Charlene' Allen

Lora “Charlene” Allen, 58, passed away on July 15th, 2025. Born on June 27th, 1967, Charlene brought joy, laughter, and light to everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Nancy Allen, her beloved granddaughter Destiny “DetDet” Hooten, and her great-grandson Zayden Lane.

Charlene is survived by her loving daughter Jessica Wainwright and husband Jamie Wainwright, and her son Walter Keith Hooten Jr. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Desirae Wainwright, Alyssa Wainwright, Kelsey Hooten, Devin Wainwright, Taylor Wainwright, Izzy Wainwright, and Addy Lane. She is also survived by her sister Sonya Allen Bryan, her brother Monty Allen, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Charlene was the life of the party—always laughing, lighting up the room, and making sure everyone around her had a reason to smile. Known for her bold, fun-loving personality, she embraced her love for bling and hot pink, never afraid to shine bright and be herself. Above all, Charlene was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She adored her family deeply and was truly the glue that held everyone together. Her strength, warmth, and unforgettable spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A funeral service will be held by the family Friday August 1st 2025 at Emmanuel Baptist Church 10453 Arnold Rd. Denham Springs, LA 70726. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Charlene’s memory by contributing to Church Funeral Services to assist in defraying the unexpected costs of a funeral and proper burial.
