Lonnie Paul Gautreau

Lonnie “LPG” Gautreau, a resident of Gonzales, LA, passed away on Decemeber 21, 2022 at the age of 61.  He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Darla Gautreau; father, Barney Gautreau; children, Cody (Amanda) Gautreau, Chelsea (James) Strehle, Kyle Gautreau, Lakelyn Hill, and Cassie (Jon) Karrer; grandchildren, Lawson and Layton Gautreau, Kensly, Ariana, and Marley Strehle, Ellie and Hadlee Haydel; siblings Pennie (Ritchie) Decoteau, Tim (Reba) Gautreau; and 6 neices and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary ‘Maggie’ Moran Gautreau and brother, Michael ‘Z’ Ray Gautreau.  Lonnie enjoyed astronomy, fishing, cooking, playing golf, spending time with family, and his best side kick, ‘Izzy’, his dog.  He would tell you his favorite thing to do was spend time at his camp and be on the water.  Many say he was “one of the good ones” and was always a pleasure to be around.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  The family would like to offer special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice staff as well as the staff at The Carpenter House for their loving care and compassion.  A celebration of life will be held on December 29, 2022 at Cashio’s 360 Catering (13521 LA-44, Gonzales, LA 70737) from 3:00-8:00 with a brief religious ceremony held at 6pm by Father Mike.
