Lloyd Doyle Hoffpauir, age 85, of Gonzales, Louisiana, peacefully passed away on December 4, 2025. He was born on September 26, 1940, in Welsh, Louisiana, to Ellis Hoffpauir Jr. and Audrey H. Vanover. Lloyd's life was a testament to his unwavering faith and commitment to his family, friends, and community.
Throughout his life, Lloyd carried the pride of his military service as a Spec 5, often sharing stories of his days in the armed forces. Those who knew him cherished his heartfelt memories and reflections, especially the profound moment when he felt the saving grace of Jesus Christ, an experience that shaped his spiritual journey and inspired countless conversations. He was deeply passionate about the book of Revelations, which resonated with his strong beliefs and values.
Lloyd found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved steaming cups of morning coffee shared with his mother-in-law, Virginia Lowery, and cherished visits with his daughter, Tanya Thibeaux. He had an innate ability to support those in need, always present for family and friends alike, embodying the role of an involved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family remembers him not just for his loving nature but also for the wisdom he imparted and the laughter he shared during their many gatherings.
In addition to his family connections, Lloyd was actively engaged in his church community, serving as a deacon and youth chaperone at the First Baptist Church. He was also a dedicated member of the House Hold of Faith and participated in the Dream Team, reflecting his commitment to helping others find their path in faith. His passion for ministry extended beyond the church, making a lasting impact on those around him.
His legacy continues through his beloved wife, Judy F. Hoffpauir, who he married on February 9, 1960, in Welsh, Louisiana. Lloyd is also survived by his son Bryan (Penny) Hoffpauir, and his daughter Tanya (Thomas) Thibodeaux. His grandchildren, Chandler (Zack) Meador, Landon (Brooke) Martin, Cheramie (Mark) Chaney, and Bj (Stephanie) Hoffpauir, carry forward his spirit alongside his great-grandchildren: Kyleigh, Danica, Kayden, Aubree, Lexi, Brayden, Wyatt, Harlow, and Ava.
Lloyd is predeceased by his father, Ellis Hoffpauir Jr., his mother, Audrey H. Vanover, and his sister, Sharon H. Roy. His memory will be forever cherished by all who knew him, as they remember a man of great faith, love, and service. Lloyd Doyle Hoffpauir's remarkable life will continue to inspire those he left behind as they carry forth his legacy of kindness and devotion.
