Linda Felps Melancon

Linda Felps Melancon, born in New Orleans, LA and resident of Livingston, LA passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at the age of 74. She was a long-time member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary as well as French Settlement Historical Society. Linda enjoyed watching monster movies, cooking and HGTV. She is survived by her husband, Kerry Melancon; daughter, Christina Vicknair (Ross); son, Darrin Melancon (Katherine); brothers, Al Felps (Jeanette), Norwood Felps (Dee Dee), BJ Felps (Debra); sister, Elizabeth Fontenot (Paul); grandchildren, Nick, Brittany, Kadin, Prestin, Hannah (mason), Alexis, Kaleb, and Mallory; 5 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Linda is preceded in death by her son, Kerry Melancon Jr. and parents, Mable and James Felps.

Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church (15710 LA-16, French Settlement, LA 70733) on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 9:30am until a prayer service at 11am. A reception to continue celebrating her life will follow at the church hall.
