“Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories.” Linda Ringer Haydel, of Gonzales, Louisiana, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on November 4, 2023, at the age of 80.
Linda was born on July 2nd, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri to Edward and Catheryn Ringer. Family was the most important part of Linda’s life. She was the heart and soul of her large family, and she will be missed more than words can express.
Linda married Melvin “Fro” Haydel on December 2nd, 1961. They welcomed their first daughter, Kimberly, in May of 1964. Her twin daughters, Tracy and Stacy, were born in July 1966. Her family became complete with the birth of her youngest daughter, Kelly, in February 1971. Linda spent her years as a housewife raising her children, caring for her mother-in-law and mother, and volunteering with local catholic churches to help those in need in her community.
Linda is survived by her husband of 61 years, Melvin. She will be deeply missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly Haydel Myers; Stacy and Robert Paille Jr.; Tracy and Craig Bourgeois; and Kelly and Glen Achord. She also leaves behind her sister, Ellen Ringer; 8 grandchildren- Stephanie (Patrick), Kayla (Brian), Clint (Brie), Bryant (Peyton), Chelsey (Chase), Kylie (Joel), Caitlyn (Joey), and Jared (Hannah); and 6 great-grandchildren, Ava, Rhyse, Aubrey, Ryker, Cayden, Oliver, Remi, and Landry.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Cathryn Ringer; sister, Kay Ringer Lowe; her son-in-law, John Myers; and her great-grandchildren, Aubree Nicole Hotard and Francis Bourgeois.
Pallbearers will be Clint Myers, Bryant Bourgeois, Jared Bourgeois, Craig Bourgeois, Robert Paille Jr., and Glen Achord. Honorary Pallbearers are Patrick Icenogle, Brian Hotard, Joel Louviere, Joey David, and Chase West.
Visitation will be at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1022 N Burnside Ave, Gonzales, LA 70737, on Friday, November 10th from 9:00am until 11:00am, service to follow, celebrated by Rev. Matthew McCaughey. Burial will follow at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park, 15304 LA-73, Prairieville, LA 70769.
