Linda Wheat Guitreau, age 67 of Livingston, LA, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, after an 8-year-long journey with cancer.
Up until the end, Linda maintained her kindness, grace, appreciation for life, love of family and friends, and expressed gratitude for her life, which was filled with wonderful and varied experiences. Linda’s life can best be encapsulated by her service to her community, family, and friends. She delivered mail for the Town of Livingston and Centerville for 39 years and worked as a Livingston Parish School Bus Driver for many years before retiring. Her great passions were cooking, baking cakes, and helping others.
She is survived by two daughters, one son and two son-in-laws: Candina Martin (Wilbert), Tijuana Martinez (Marty), and Jacob Guitreau (Jessica); eight grandchildren: Dakota Martin (Hayley), Wade (Michelle), Wynn (Kim), Abram (Hayleigh), Bryson (Krislyn), Nalaya Sibley (Austin), Ethan and Sawyer; two great grandchildren: Timothy and Hudson Martin; her mother, Georgia Wheat; two sisters and one brother: Peggy Jones, Kathy West (Gerald), Phillip Wheat (Patricia); brother-in-law, Luke DiMattia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Carl W. “Little Bit” Guitreau; father Johnny Harvey “Snake” Wheat; and sister Vickey Wheat DiMattia.
Special thanks to her brother-in-law Ben Guitreau; and niece Amanda Guitreau; for always looking after her. Special thanks to Ochsner Emergency Room on O’Neal in Baton Rouge, LA, and Dr. Bergon for doing everything they could.
Services will be held on Sunday 5/25/25 a visitation will be held from 2 pm - 4 pm at Unity Prayer Center28145 S Frost Rd Livingston, LA 70754 with a burial to follow a religious service at Magnolia Ridge Cemetery
