Lena “Sally” Denham Guedry died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family at 10:12 AM on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023. Sally was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on July 9th, 1937 and lived 85 wonderful years. She met the love of her life, Sam Joseph Guedry and they were married for 60 years before his passing on October 11th, 2014. Sally, a resident of St. Amant, was a homemaker and devoted mother to her five children, Gary, Wayne , Kerwin, Derwin, and Stephanie. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, fishing, and dancing with her husband. She was devoted to her church and enjoyed outings with her women’s group. She is survived by her children, Gary Guedry, Wayne Guedry and wife, Denise, Kerwin Guedry, Derwin Guedry and wife, Rhonda; Stephanie Guedry German and husband, Joseph (Joe); brother Hugh Denham; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Sally is preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Wall Denham & Ed Denham; her brothers, Riley, Pete, Davey & Murray O’Neil Denham; sisters, Virginia Denham Bateman and Wanda Mae Denham. The family would like to thank Hospice of Baton Rouge, as well as Tina Leblanc for their love, support, and dedication to their mother’s care. A celebration of Sally’s life will be held at New River Baptist Church on Friday, March 31st, with public viewing from 9 AM – 11 AM and service beginning at 11AM. Burial to follow in church cemetery with reception to conclude at the New River Baptist Church gym.
